Conan Is Back!

On September 13, 1993, Conan Christopher O'Brien became the successor of David Letterman's “Late Night”. June 1, 2009, Mr. O'Brien again received the reigns to a show, this time Jay Leno's "The Tonight Show" - a staple of late night television for the last 17 years.

I, for one, could not be happier. I have watched “Late Night” religiously since Conan came on. With characters such as Oldy Olson to Triumph The Insult Comic Dog, Conan brought much needed comedy to the country and is now continuing the tradition with The Tonight Show.

Conan's first show opened with a sketch where he checked off all that he had done to prepare for the move except for remembering to actually move to Los Angeles. After failing to catch a taxi, he then started running to L.A. instead. Funny stuff.

He then took us on the Universal Studio tram tour where he had the tram go around in circles, drive on the streets of L.A., and then proceed to buy something for everyone at the 99 Cents Only Store.

His first guest as the new Tonight Show host, promoting his movie "Land Of The Lost", was Will Ferrel - brought out by four Egyptian slaves - which caused my wife to drool (over the slaves, not Mr. Ferrel).

Pearl Jam was the musical guest of the evening.  They played a cut of their forthcoming album, titled "Backspacer." The song, title provided by O'Briens official site, is called "Got Some," and it really rocks.

Looking forward to many more episodes of hilarity, until next time, this is Tommy Geik.
